Web Design
There are traditionally a number of problems when people try to create or run their own websites but it is easy to see why it is tempting. Many designers charge anything between fifty and five hundred pounds a month for website maintenance and web designs often average between one and ten thousand pounds (and that does not even include e-commerce sites!).
Taking a short web design course, buying ‘site in the box’ software, book or a cheap online template, getting a friend to help or simply using PowerPoint to get online suggests an easy and cheap alternative.
An analogy to this might be that you CAN also make your own clothes or fit your own kitchen or bathroom or mend your own car but although, some lucky individuals may be inherently talented at sewing, building, plumbing or mechanics – the rest of us are probably not! We would rather pay for a professional, safe and long lasting job.
