Volunteer Opportunities - Restorative Justice Project
Restorative Justice seeks to repair or mend the damage arising from the criminal offense by attending to the needs of victims, community, and offenders. Restorative Justice seeks to build mutually beneficial partnerships among those with a stake in the justice process and community safety and well being (police, probation, courts, schools, religious and civic groups, neighborhood associations, etc). Volunteers are needed to serve as facilitators for family conferencing groups. Traning is provided.
Restorative Justice-Dept. of Probation Services

A safe and peaceful community in which Victims, Offenders and Community members together learn about, understand, and heal the harms of crime.
Restorative Justice emphasizes the ways in which crime hurts relationships among people who live in the community. Crime is seen as something done against a victim and the community - not simply as a violation against the state.
