Special Olympics-Colorado Programs and Services


Special Olympics Colorado offers year-round sports training and athletic competition to children and adults with developmental disabilities (mental retardation), 8 years of age and older, in 22 different sports.

Sports include alpine and cross country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, figure and speed skating, basketball, golf, softball, aquatics, powerlifting, equestrian, tennis, bowling, volleyball, floor hockey, roller skating, athletics, bpcce, cycling, gymnastics, and soccer Also offers motor activities training and Unified Sports program for teams with equal numbers of individuals with and without developmental disabilities.

The mission of Special Olympics Colorado (SOCO) is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, eight years of age and older, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendships
