THE SHELTER PROGRAMS
A fresh start is our main focus, so we call our intensive program Fresh Start. Clients are expected to find and keep a full time or part time job that can work into a full time one.
We provide three programs:
- Christian--those who choose to seek a Christian life, realizing Christ is the only true and lasting way.
- Secular--those who choose not to participate in Christian programs, but who want to become a stable and productive member of society.
- Family--all families have their own special needs and the ways of helping them differ accordingly.
Senior citizens and the disabled are accepted on the program of their choosing, but obviously are not required to work outside.
The Open Door Mission
At Open Door Mission, we have worked for 20 years to provide shelter, day center services, meals, and recovery help to homeless men, women, and families. Whether our clients are Christian or secular, an individual or a family, we offer programs to address what causes people to be homeless as well as the services necessary for their immediate well-being.
