Rocky Mountain SER was created on October 1, 1980 to provide employment; training and educational opportunities to Colorado's disadvantaged population. Rocky Mountain SER is designated by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization. Rocky Mountain SER's Board of Directors consists of community leaders from throughout the state, Head Start parents and other constituents, as well as private business representatives.
Rocky Mountain SER's mission is: Satisfying Colorado's diverse employment, training and educational needs. This statement reflects RMSER's overall program philosophy, which is to assist those individuals who face the most serious barriers to education and employment.
RMSER believes that greater benefit is derived from human service programs when lower-functioning individuals and families facing multiple barriers receive services. in order to achieve this mission, Rocky Mountain SER formed two distinct divisions consisting of early childhood education and workforce development.
Rocky Mountain Ser Workforce Development Programs
Rocky Mountain SER has offered workforce development opportunities to individuals and employers since its inception in 19S0. Beginning with the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA), continuing with the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) and now through the Workforce Investment Act (VVIA), Rocky Mountain SER continues to be at the forefront of workforce development in Colorado.
Rocky Mountain Ser Migrant Farm Workers Programs
The National Farm worker Jobs Program (NFJP) under section 167 of the Workforce Investment Act assists migrant and other seasonally-employed farm workers and their families, achieve economic self-sufficiency through job training and other services that address their employment related needs.
