Habitat for Humanity is a christian housing ministry that believes that decent, affordable housing is a basic human right. Therefore, they provide assistance to those families who do not earn enough to buy a home regardles of their religious beliefs. The homes are built primarily with donated materials and volunteer labor and can be sold at no profit and no interest to buyer. Home Supply store is a fund-raising enterprise for Fort Collins Habitat to raise money to build more Habitat houses in Fort Collins. Habitat accepts donations of building materials, furniture, large appliances, cars, etc.

Volunteers are needed for construction of houses and to help in the store. Habitat provides assistance to families who earn too much to qualify for government subsidies, but do not qualify for a loan to purchase a home. Those families fall in the range of 35% to 50% of the are median income.
